1. What ROPAT is

ROPAT - National Public Transport Congress is a national platform dedicated to passenger public transport in Romania. The event brings together public administration, transport operators, metropolitan authorities, technology companies, manufacturers, infrastructure suppliers and everyone involved in funding, modernising and running mobility services.

Organised by the Romanian Smart City Association (ARSC), the 4th edition runs over four days in Bucharest: a conference, the Romanian Public Transport Awards Gala, the TUSMC Federation day and site visits. The Federation of Urban, Suburban and Metropolitan Passenger Transport Operators (TUSMC) is the main partner of this edition.

Public transport for people. Better decisions. More efficient services. Better connected cities.

ROPAT 2026 brings public authorities, operators, manufacturers and solution providers to the same table for a realistic discussion about the future of passenger public transport in Romania: fleets, infrastructure, digitalisation, funding, safety, accessibility and the passenger experience.

2. About ROPAT 2026

Public transport - essential infrastructure for the economy and communities

Passenger public transport is no longer just a technical part of local government. It is essential infrastructure for the economy, for access to education and jobs, for social inclusion, for quality of life and for the competitiveness of urban and metropolitan communities.

Romania's cities and metropolitan areas are at a point where pressure on transport services is growing and passengers' expectations are changing fast. People want services that are predictable, clean, safe, accessible, digitally integrated and in step with the real needs of everyday life. Authorities and operators need solutions that can be implemented, operated and maintained efficiently, not just presented as visions of the future.

ROPAT 2026 answers the need for direct dialogue between public administration, operators and the companies that develop solutions for public transport. The event brings together representatives of public administration and institutions, operators, manufacturers, integrators, digital solution providers, experts and institutional partners for a practical discussion about passenger public transport in Romania.

The 2026 edition focuses on concrete solutions for urban, metropolitan, regional and intermodal transport, with the passenger experience at the centre: waiting times, comfort, safety, real-time information, accessibility, simple payment, predictability, operational efficiency and integration between modes of transport.

ROPAT 2026 is not a general mobility conference, nor a logistics event. It is a professional meeting dedicated entirely to passenger transport and the ecosystem that makes it possible: authorities, operators, infrastructure, technology, funding, regulation and public services.
